Dinner accompanied by harp, French dessert for two, roses for ladies and a unique view of the Old Town towers. Can you imagine something more romantic?
St. Valentine's Day is a relatively new in the Czech Republic, but it is definitely not a "fiction" of modern times. The roots of Valentine's celebrations date back to ancient Rome, where on 14th February was celebrated the day of Juno and Lupercus, who were considered the protectors of marriage and family. The popular gift of flowers derives directly from the Bishop Valentine who, according to legend, gave young couples bouquets from the Episcopal Garden.
We will celebrate St. Valentine's Day in Golden Prague traditionally. Guests can choose from a degustation or à la carte menu, enriched with seasonal specialties and an wide selection of wines.
Part of the Valentine's menu will be Paris-Brest, an original French dessert of batter and praline cream, first baked in 1910 by French pastry Louis Durand in honour of the cycling race from Paris to Brest in Brittany, whose round shape was to be a wheel of a bicycle. For everybody in love, our Pastry Chef has prepared a heart-shaped variant with egg yolk liquor and chocolate mousse, Bailey‘s and coffee coulis.
And gentlemen - a rose for a lady will be taken care of!
