The Troja Chateau was built between 1679 and 1685 by Jean B. Mathey as a summer residence for Court Vaclav Vojtěch of Šternberk. The two-story chateau is augmented by the monumental horseshoe-shaped staircase, decorated with sculptures of Titans and Olympians, that leads directly to the Main Hall on the park floor. The French park, fountains and other areas give the chateau its unique character.
