The old sewage works formed a part of the Prague sewerage system, was built between 1895 - 1906 by English engineer William Heerlein Lindley. The entire treatment technology - screens, sand trap and sedimentation reservoirs - is hidden underground in a vast labyrinth of brick vaulted catacombs. Lindley`s plant was in service until 1967, when a new plant was opened. In the 90`s a group of volunteers converted the abandoned building into an industrial heritage museum.
